Connection option **PAPI:** Jenkins can use a direct connection to OnPage when a build event occurs.
How it works Jenkins uses a direct connection to send selected job or pipeline results to OnPage. OnPage turns the selected result into an alert for the appropriate on-call team.
Requirements – Jenkins administrator or job configuration access. – A job or pipeline whose failures or other results warrant an on-call response. – Permission to create the OnPage connection for the receiving team.
Setup
1. In Jenkins, open the job or pipeline that should notify the on-call team.
2. Open its configuration and add the direct connection step used by your Jenkins installation.
3. Complete the OnPage connection details provided by your OnPage administrator.
4. Choose the build or pipeline outcomes that should create an alert, focusing on failures that require intervention.
5. Save the configuration.
Alert status updates **Supported:** Jenkins shows the outcome of the related work in the job’s **Build History** and in the individual build or pipeline view. Use those screens to see whether the build that sent the notification succeeded, failed, or is still running.
Verify Run a safe test build. Confirm that the OnPage alert identifies the job and build outcome clearly, then review the same build in Jenkins.
