Create API user resource in Autotask

Autotask Integration

  • Open the Autotask website and log in.
  • Hover over the Autotask logo in the upper left-hand corner of the window.
  • From the menu that appears, select Admin > Resources (Users).
  • Click on the down arrow next to new and select New API User.

Autotask Integration

  • Under General, Enter the first name, last name, and email address. OnPage is recommended as the first name.
  • Under Security Level, drop-down menu and select API User (system).
  • Make sure that Activeis selected.
  • Under General, generate Username (Key) and Password (Secret).
  • Under the API Tracking Identifier, select the Integration Vendor radio button and from the drop-down menu, select OnPage – Incident Alert Management.
  • Click Save & Close.

Register Autotask API credentials with OnPage enterprise

Autotask Integration

  • Login to the OnPage Integration Console.
  • Under Autotask, click on Install.
  • Enter the generated API user Username (Key) and Password (Secret).
  • Click Install.

Build URL for selected recipients using Wizard

Autotask Integration

  • Select message individual recipients or groups.
  • Copy URL for Autotask Callout Extension.

Create Extension Callout in Autotask

Autotask Integration

  • Hover over the Autotask logo in the upper left-hand corner of the window.
  • From the menu that appears, select Admin > Extensions & Integrations.
  • Expand Other Extensions & Tools and click Extension Callouts (Tickets).
  • Click New Extension Callout.
  • Set Active checkbox.
  • Enter callout name.
  • Paste the built URL from previous step.
  • Select POST from the list of HTTP Transport Method.
  • Choose Name-Value Pair from the list of Data Format.
  • Click Save & Close.

Create Autotask Workflow Rule

Autotask Integration

  • Open the Autotask website and log in.
  • Hover over the Autotask logo in the upper left-hand corner of the window.
  • From the menu that appears, select Admin > Workflow Rules.
  • Expand Other Extensions & Tools and click Extension Callouts (Tickets).
  • Click the New button or Edit existing workflow rule.
  • Create needed criteria for workflow rule.
  • In the Action segment choose just created in step 4 callout extension in field Then Execute Callout Extension.
  • Click Save & Close.
  • Once the ticket is created with predefined criteria the callout extension will be executed and the selected OnPage users will receive an OnPage alert.
