OnPage and Amion Integration
AMION is a scheduling tool used by hospitals to manage on-call schedules. The integration with OnPage allows these emergency calls to be automatically forwarded to the on-call person as an OnPage Alert. This means you can use your AMION-scheduled tasks directly within OnPage, eliminating the need to configure separate scheduled groups in OnPage.
Dedicated Line Requirement
To use this integration, you need a dedicated phone number. OnPage provides dedicated lines in most countries. To get a dedicated line or port an existing number, you should contact OnPage Support.
Call Flow Explanation
Phone Line Menu Setup:
- You can create a call menu or phone tree to route to the appropriate schedule group or department.
- When a phone call is initiated, the caller navigates through the menu by selecting options using the phone keypad.
Shift Key Configuration:
- In Amion, each user will be assigned an OnPage ID or pager number. Users will log into the OnPage mobile application with this OnPage ID to receive alerts.
- For each phone tree menu item, you must specify a Shift Key. This Shift Key is linked to AMION, allowing OnPage to retrieve the active on-call person on the shift.
- If no on-call person is found in AMION for the selected Shift Key, or if the Shift Key is not found, OnPage will attempt to retrieve the on-call person using an escalation Shift Key or Failover Shift Key.
Failover and Alerting:
- In cases where the Failover Shift does not have any active on-call person or if it is not found, OnPage will send the Alert to a predefined OPID (OnPage ID).
- This ensures that the emergency call is always received, with no chance of it being missed.
Using WCTP for Message Dispatch
- WCTP Integration: You can also use (WCTP) to dispatch messages directly from AMION to OnPage. This method allows for seamless and reliable message dispatching from your AMION scheduling system to the OnPage application, ensuring that critical alerts are delivered quickly and efficiently.
- Setup: To configure WCTP, you will need to obtain the appropriate WCTP gateway details from OnPage and integrate them into your AMION system.
